R.J. Conley Wins $3,000 at Atomic; Rod Conley Captures Track Championship!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, celebrated in victory lane for the fifth time in 2022 on Saturday night, October 22 at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio! R.J. swept the unsanctioned program at the Chillicothe-area oval, as he earned Fast Time honors during qualifying, won his heat race, and later led flag-to-flag in the 25-lap headliner. He picked up the $3,000 first place prize money in dominant fashion over a top five that included his brother and runner-up Rod Conley, Kirk Phillips, Kenneth Howell, and Joe Brewer.

Rod laid down the fifth quickest lap overall during time trials prior to running second in both his heat race and the A-Main. With the runner-up feature effort, "Hot Rod'' clinched the 2022 Super Late Model Track Championship at Atomic Speedway! Complete results from Saturday's contest can be found online by clicking on www.atomicspeedway.net.

“It was an awesome night for us at Atomic with a one-two finish and Rod winning the track championship,” quoted R.J. this week. “Our car was probably the best it has been all year, which is a good thing, but bad in that the season is almost over. I could drive so straight and put the car anywhere on the track and it had speed. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate in a few weeks when we go back to the Jackie Boggs Memorial and we can close out the season on a strong note!”

Following a weekend off on October 28-29, the Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams will be right back in action at Atomic Speedway on November 4-5. Rod and R.J. Conley - weather pending - will return to competition at the Alma, Ohio oval in the 2nd Annual ‘Jackie Boggs Memorial.’ A $4,000 winner’s check will be on the line in Friday’s weekend opener, while the victor of Saturday’s grand finale will be awarded a $14,000 payday.
