Ricky Weiss Notches Two More Ernie Mincey Tribute Early Thaw Wins
Smoky Mountain Speedway WoO Doubleheader Up Next for Team

HEADINGLEY, MANITOBA, Canada (01/31/23) – Ricky Weiss added two more wins to his 2023-win tally during the final weekend of Ernie Mincey Tribute Early Thaw at Central Arizona Raceway.

He now has four wins on the year aboard his Drydene Performance Products No. 7 G-Style Transport/ Sniper Chassis / Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“It was another good weekend at Casa Grande (Central Arizona Raceway) for the team. We ended our winter races with four wins. I doubt we’ll race anywhere in February. Right now, the plan is to race again with the (World of) Outlaws at Smoky Mountain (Speedway) the first week of March,” Weiss shared. “As always, a big thank you goes out everyone who supports our team. We couldn’t do what we do without them.”

Ricky Weiss returned to the seat of his Drydene Engine Oils No. 7 Late Model for the second weekend of action at Central Arizona Raceway (Casa Grande, Ariz.) for the Ernie Mincy Tribute Early Thaw.

With a heat race victory early in the night, Weiss positioned himself to start the 30-lap A-Main from the second row. Ricky powered to the top spot on lap three and cruised the rest of the way to the checkered flag. Weiss pocketed $2,000 for his efforts and topped Don Shaw and Josh Zimpel who rounded out the Top-3 finishers.

Weiss continued his excellence on Friday with another heat race win that would once again earn him a second row starting position. With only 30 laps to work with, Ricky didn't waste time and took the lead from Clayton Stucky on lap 7 before storming away from the field to pick up his second victory of the weekend and fourth in the Ernie Mincy Tribute Early Thaw two-week event. Weiss outran Cody Laney and Josh Zimpel for the $2,500 payday.

For Saturday's $3,000 finale, Ricky finished fifth in his heat race which pinned him to a 17th-place starting position in the 35-lap main event. Weiss recorded a 17th-to-6th charge in the feature to finish out the weekend.
