I have never been to Farmer City and I have heard mixed reviews on the track. This event interests me since I would be able to make the Friday night portion of the show but not Saturday. Your post shows only 3 classes so I would hope to be able to get out of there at a decent hour.

Any helpful hints to a first timer going to Farmer City? Parking? Timely run shows? Certain seating? Coolers allowed? Etc...........

I wouldn’t expect to get out it’s usually terribly ran. Parking is basically a free for all once you pay at the gate. There are signs that say no coolers but usually no one checking. I would get a pit pass and stand in turn 3 on the fence beat view at the place. All the seating is pretty far back from the track. The racing itself is usually good.

Thanks for the info. I guess that I will have to forget about hitting this show. Too bad some promoters don't seem to understand time management.

Farmer City is terrible at running smooth/efficient shows. Always super late getting out of there. I will also add that the weather does not look good from now through next weekend so you should probably save yourself a trip.

Like CILDirt said, the weather doesn't look promising if you're traveling far.
Probably a great time for hitting up FC would be the May 12th show. Get a cheap room somewhere between FC and Fairbury for Saturday night.
    4 day swing.
    Spoon Wednesday
    Lincoln Friday
    Farmer City Friday
    Fairbury Saturday

That's 4 days of racing at 4 really good tracks.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. However, I have a 3 hour drive home plus losing an hour due to time change so that would put me home very late. Saturday morning early schedule so I'll have to pass on this one. The May 12th date doesn't work either due to my work schedule, I'll keep trying and maybe it will work out someday.

The Outlaw tour will almost have more downtime between speed weeks and their spring races than the 2022-2023 off season. The outlaws next scheduled race is April 20th, 2 months since Volusia ended. There off season was roughly 2 months and 2 weeks.

Yep, The Wild West Shootout and Georgia-Florida Speedweeks seems like an enternity since we saw big time DLM racing.

I was wondering the same thing. WOO has three week-ends open in April, I was hoping one of those would work.

We need to stop scheduling so many national touring races in March. Those southern events could easily be raced in late Oct/November. Start the midwestern events in mid to late April or better yet May.

Why keep scheduling big races in March in Illinois instead of the southern states where its already at least spring, and even summer in some place?
