LOLMS-Weather
I was really looking forward to seeing the LOLMS this weekend, but the weather looks lousey all three days. The series is making it's debut at the rececently renovated Georgetown Speedway (DE). Since Lucas only comes to my area twice a year, I hope they can reschedule if they do cancel?
-
Not thrilled with forecast either, plans for Hagerstown and Port Royal. Rain out on Hagerstown weekend has become the rule instead of an exception. Wouldn't hold my breath for reschedule.
-
Ross Chastain is making his dirt late model debut at Georgetown.
Please, rain … stay away!
-
im thrilled with weather forecast! woo hoo! im gonna make my own post saying so! yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
-
Pretty sure the weekend has been called off.
-
The $18,049 to win #MelvinLJosephMemorial at Georgetown Speedway has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 24th.
Conococheague50 at Hagerstown Speedway will not be made up in 2023.
Port Royal Speedway will also not be made up this season. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to 'The Speed Palace' on Friday, August 25th and Saturday, August 26th
-
uh-oh, someone's not gonna be to "thrilled" about this.
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
-
The remainder of the 2023 Lucas Oil Late Model Series has been canceled and won't be made up. RTJ has been declared the winner.

I think the main reason they cancelled is because they did not want to have a one-day show on Friday. Saturday would have been brutal (low temps and high winds).
-
Is that where we're at now?? If we can't race all weekend in good weather, just cancel everything?? Wow

Yes, yes we are. Racers don't want to race and promotion doesn't want to open the gate because neither loses any money then.

It really makes me wonder if some lucas drivers of don't want to race at Macon? It doesn't bother the guys in Illinois because they know what they are getting into. They could have ran it after fairbury next Sunday week and just add it to the 4 day long "speedweek." With the lack of shows they have completed, you'd think they would at least try it since they are in the area.
I used to think it was track management, but that has changed.

I'm pretty sure they don't want to race there.

Lowest speeds of the year. I would almost go out on a limb and say this would be one the more cost effective races they could have. What they might tear up would be minor. Not saying you're wrong at all. Macon basically gets dealt the same hand as tazewell did anymore. Drivers didn't want to race there, and we see how that ended up.

It's small and tight quarters, so bodies get beat up and it's hard to pass. That isn't their style. They want to get on a slick surface that's smooth as glass and let their downforce shine.
