Wow, thats incredible news. This race will be coming just two days after the Dream at Eldora. And the tracks are just 90 miles or two hours drive apart.
How many seats does Kokomo have now? It will take a lot of them and a lot of sponcers out their ears...
They must have big plans on the pay per view also.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention!
I don't know the number of seats at Kokomo. Fair amount. I'm not sure how you can pay a purse like this on a Monday night, especially with Kokomo noted as a sprint car track. I'm sure their hope is streaming will cover a major portion of the payout.
I attended last year's Monday, Sept 19th event last year which paid $20,000 to win. 42 late model and 42 modifieds. Sitting on the backstretch, I literally counted the number of fans sitting in the main grandstands. More people in the pit area than the front stretch. Everything ran behind that Monday night. The racing was side by side and very clean. Tuesday had a larger crowd and the program flowed much better. Hope they pack the track this year.
Kokomo is not LM country to begin with but how do you pay a $200k purse in one night charging $25 for adults? The streaming is helpful but there's no way this event breaks even.

Not sure if this was mentioned clearly by XR, but their May 8th XR Super Series Kokomo date is now combined with the June 12th date. It's not really explained in their $100,000 to win ad. This was in their release:
Following up the massive success of the XR Super Series season opening Spring Thaw 100 at Volunteer Speedway, officials at XR Events have combined series dates and will sanction a now $100,000-to-win, $200,000 purse, one day event at Kokomo Speedway on June 12, 2023, dubbed “The 100K Upgrade.”
