That depends on how many of them were worth $2,000 instead of $10K like the REAL goat, Mr. Bloomquist.

Jeff Purvis. If he would have stayed in dlm racing Ole bloomie would not have had the career he had. NOBODY, was as smooth as Jeff Purvis. Win totals, Moyer, but you can make any argument you want on who is the true goat. Bloomquist would not have had the numbers he has if the 15 car stayed on dirt.

The people who say Purvis is the goat make me laugh. Yeah I coulda been the goat too if I had a car, the funding, the sponsors, the opportunity blah blah blah. See what I’m saying? He COULD have been, but didn’t compete long enough to rack up the accomplishments that Bloomer and Moyer did.

I personally watched Bloomquist win a bunch of races at many central and eastern Kentucky tracks, that paid $3000 to win, $2000 to win, even $1000 to win. That was over a period of probably ten years. Are we pretending those races didn’t happen?

There's a lot of nuthuggers out there that think Scott only raced 10 g races and up. It makes for a good laugh.

Terry, you bring up a great point that I’ve always thought about when it comes to Moyer’s wins too. Back in the 80’s to early-mid 90’s I watched Billy win a lot of lower paying races in the Mo, Ok, Ark region --- and the only competition was Phillips, Essary, and McDaniels and a few others. Like I said, you bring up a great point.

My opinion, it’s a silly argument on who’s the GOAT of DLM’s --- I’m just happy that I can say I watched a lot of good DLM drivers, period, and in the heyday of the 80’s to early-mid 90’s. sorry, Terry, I live in the past. hahaha

#1 I never said Purvis was the goat. What I said and stand by is the guy was smooth, the guy was always fast and I don't think Scott would have had the winning seasons he had if Purvis did not have the misfortune of a bad accident. I really don't give a sh1t about who is the goat. Moyer still races, he is rarely competitive. Scott is a train wreck, he's been on that path since the passing of randy sweet. JD is superman for a reason but he also has BIG money behind him. There will never be someone as dominate as Moyer and Bloomer for consecutive years as those 2. So do we toss in a name that very few of you have probably never heard of. Western Pa racer Bob Wearing, close to 600 race wins I believe, they called the guy Mr. Invitational. Carry on !

Bob Wearings biggest win is the Hillbilly 100, he can't be considered.

I think Moyer is the better driver, but Scott is the much, much better chassis guy.

If we are going on number of wins, they claim Buck Simmons had over #1000 feature wins in his career as his mom kept a pretty detailed journal of his wins. I was at the race where he won #1000 (Lavonia Speedway). As great/good as Buck was, I wouldn't put him on the same level as Bloomer/Moyer.

GOAT discussions are usually just a fun tailgate conversation to have over a beer or two.

Just think ; That there little Brock Pinkerous kid is only 13 years of age and is already winning races. Who knows that if DLM racing survives long enough, he may be able to surpass all records ? ?

Scott drove others chassis for most of his career. The Sweet/Bloomquist was a car that was built in randy's shop. I'm sure Scott had a lot of input but without the business partner that RS was I don't think the success of that chassis happens. It has unfortunately shown it was starting to unravel after his passing, I for one would love to see him make a comeback. Scott can still wheel a car, question is can he get there on time and have a crew that can prepare the car.

Moyer has a history with Tim Lance. I believe one of Tim's early cars was bought as-is from Moyer after a race. I am sure this whole deal has a bit to do with Moyer helping Lance and his sons.
