Cory Hedgec ock Scores Scott Sexton Memorial Triumph
Set for Crate Racin’ USA Weekend Doubleheader

LOUDON, Tenn. (06/02/23) – Cory Hedgec ock took the lead on lap 8 on Monday evening at 411 Motor Speedway and never looked back en route to Victory Lane with his W.E. Hardscapes & Masonry / Noble Knights Construction Services / No. 23 Currin Construction / BMF Race Car / Eagle Racing Engine Super Late Model.

His eighth win of the year was worth $5,052 in Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series competition and tied him atop the series’ all-time win list.

“We got to the lead early (at 411 Motor Speedway), and then got the job done. Decided to give Clarksville (Speedway) a shot on Tuesday night. We had a good car but needed long runs, and the cautions kept slowing my progression. Still finished second to Mikey (Marlar), and I’m definitely not hanging my head for that. Overall, we had a pretty good holiday weekend of racing,” Hedgec ock said. “We’re going to do a little crate racing this weekend before getting back in the Super Late Model next week at the Dream (Eldora Speedway and then Kokomo (Speedway).”

Cory Hedgec ock invaded I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) last Friday afternoon to kick off his Memorial Day weekend with the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals.

With 34 Late Models entered, Hedgec ock locked his spot into the opener with a consolation victory after missing the mark in time trials. With $7,553 on the line, Cory advanced forward seven spots in the 40-lapper to finish fourth. He chased race-long pacesetter Carson Ferguson, Ross Bailes, and Dale McDowell to the checkers with Garrett Smith in fifth.

In a field of 34 Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals entries on Saturday at North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Ga.) for the Biddle Ridley Memorial, Cory’s fifth-to-third run in his heat race positioned him on the fifth row for the $10,053-to-win A-Main. Improving two spots in the 53-lap affair, Hedgec ock notched a seventh-place finish.

For the 11th annual Scott Sexton Memorial on Monday at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.), Cory raced his way into the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series sanctioned feature with the fastest lap amongst a field of 21 cars. Sliding ahead of front-row starter Ricky Weiss on the eighth circuit, Hedgec ock soared to his eighth win of the season and 10th career Iron-Man triumph. He earned a $5,052 payday ahead of Weiss, Donald McIntosh, Mack McCarter, and Jensen Ford.

The Memorial Day weekend concluded for Hedgec ock on Tuesday with a visit to Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tenn.) for the Ultimate Heart of America Series sanctioned contest. Earning the third-starting position for the $10,000-to-win via a heat race victory, Cory gained one spot to register a second-place finish, chasing race-long leader Mike Marlar to the checkers.
