Forecasted Heavy Rain and Strong Storms Push Wythe Raceway Event to Sunday, July 16

(RURAL RETREAT, VIRGINIA) With heavy rain and strong storms forecasted for this afternoon and at race time in the Wytheville, Virginia area, tonight’s second leg of the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco at Wythe Raceway has been postponed until Sunday, July 16. The same exact program will take place tomorrow, but with earlier start times. The pit gates will be open all day today and tomorrow morning for teams to park, but the pits will be cleared starting tomorrow at 1:00pm. The grandstands will then open at 3:00pm before the drivers meeting takes place at 4:00pm. Hot laps are then scheduled to hit the Rural Retreat, Virginia highbanks starting at 4:30pm with racing action to quickly follow.

Along with the ground-pounding Super Late Models competing for a $10,053 top prize, the Aschenbach Super Street, Wythe Eye Modified, Randy’s Tire Shop Pro Mini, UCAR, & KCAR divisions will also tackle the picturesque 1/2-mile oval. A reminder to all Super Late Model drivers that we are starting ALL cars in the 53-lap feature tomorrow - as usual at Wythe - as long as you are within two seconds of the second quickest qualifier overall during time trials.
