There is no good reason for this blend rule. But, the guys in place making these decisions are delusional anyhow. Droop, questionable at best. Aero, on big tracks they must wear blinders, because if you want good racing today the bullring ovals is where it's at.

I can at least understand the intent of the droop rule. Moving the decks back down to 36” would probably accomplish the same goal, though.

The droop rule wasn't even intended to address aero, I don't think. It is because someone complaining, thinking they were at a disadvantage. If they cared about aero, there is so much low hanging fruit.
