CARTERSVILLE, GA – Veteran driver and crew chief Don Jenkins of Kingston, GA will be looking to continue his winning ways in Mike Vaughn Racing Vaden Chevrolet Modified this Saturday night at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA. Jenkins picked up his second win of the season on August 5 at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA.

Jenkins’ first win of the 2023 season came at the season opener at Rome Speedway on April 15. The Vaden Chevrolet Modified has been a potent ride for whomever has been behind the wheel of the Mike Vaughn Racing machine. In six races this season, the car has three wins, with two by Jenkins and one in February by former Georgia Dirt Late Model standout Mark Miner.

Miner, who now lives in Fenton, MO, returned to the Peach State on February 3 to drive the Vaden Chevrolet Modified to victory in the Winter Freeze XII race at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA, not far from Vaden Chevrolet’s home base in Savannah, GA. Miner followed up the next night with a fourth-place finish.

Former NASCAR star and current SRX Series driver Ken Schrader of Fenton, MO has driven the Vaden Chevrolet Modified twice this season for Mike Vaughn Racing with a top five finish and a top ten finish. Schrader finished eighth in the Cabin Fever Race on January 28 at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA, and he also had a fourth place showing on March 26 at Springfield Raceway in Springfield, MO during March Madness.

The economical Chevrolet Performance 602 engine in the Mike Vaughn Racing Modified Sportsman race car came right out of the crate from Vaden Chevrolet in Savannah, GA ready for competition. The engine was built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.
