R.J. Conley Cashes Biggest Win of 2023 Season at Mudlick; Weekend Plans Wrecked by Weather

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley picked up his sixth checkered flag of the 2023 racing season on Saturday night, October 7 in the inaugural 'Fall 40' at Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, Kentucky! After earning Fast Time honors during the qualifying session and winning his heat race, R.J. led all forty circuits in the unsanctioned main event from the pole position to pocket a total of $10,600. Finishing behind his #71C Rocket Chassis was runner-up Tyler Erb, Drake Troutman, Greg Johnson, and Zack Dohm. His brother Rod Conley was also in action at Mudlick on Saturday and placed third in his heat race and tenth in the 40-lapper.

Rod and his #71R team also competed last Friday evening, October 6 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series and the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series co-sanctioned the 40th edition of the 'Hoosier Dirt Classic' and a $10,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Rod finished fifth in his heat race, third in his B-Main, and sixteenth in the 40-lap headliner. Complete results from both weekend races can be found online at www.mudlickraceway.com and www.brownstownspeedway.com.

“It was a great run at Mudlick on Saturday and an awesome win for our team,” quoted R.J. Conley after his biggest payday of the season. “The track was in good shape and it got slick, which is where I tend to struggle a little bit. I was able to get Fast Time in qualifying though and that set us up with perfect track position for the rest of the night. Thanks to all of our great sponsors and product supporters who help make this possible and of course all of my crew and the fans!”

Both Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers - Rod and R.J. Conley - were slated to return to action this Saturday evening, October 14 at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio. However, the $3,000 to win unsanctioned contest has already been nixed by inclement weather that is invading the area tomorrow. The next event on the calendar is Rod’s scheduled visit to the sprawling Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania on October 20-21 for the 6th Annual ‘Keystone Cup.’ Qualifying and $2,300 to win twin features will be held next Friday, while next Saturday’s 60-lap finale boasts a $23,000 first place prize.
