    JCM Motorsports Welcomes Spencer Hughes as New Driver
    Mississippi Standout to Take Over Driving Duties of Team’s No. 19m

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (10/24/23) – JCM Motorsports is proud to announce that, Mississippi standout, Spencer Hughes, will be taking over the driver’s seat of the team’s YellowHammer Design & Construction No. 19m Torco Advanced Lubricants / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engines, Inc. Super Late Model.

    “It’s a very exciting time here at JCM Motorsports as we welcome Spencer Hughes to our team. Not only is he a proven driver on the track, but he also brings a wealth of knowledge about car setup and assembly to our operation,” JCM Motorsports owner, Colten Miller noted. “We’re going to hit some races before this season is over to start gelling as a team, so that we can hit the ground running at Speedweeks in 2024.”

    For Spencer Hughes, he’s excited for everything about the opportunity with JCM Motorsports represents.

    “I’m looking forward to a fresh start with Colten (Miller) and everyone at JCM Motorsports. With me being from Mississippi and them from Alabama, it’ll be great to be closer to home. Again, I can’t thank the team enough for the opportunity, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together,” Hughes shared.

    JCM Motorsports recently concluded a successful three-year run with Wil Herrington as the team’s driver. In 2023 Herrington piloted the team’s car to three wins, nine Top-5 finishes, and 14 Top-10 performances in 43 starts. The team finished third in the final standings for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.

    “Wil (Herrington) will always be family to us, and we enjoyed our time with him as our driver. We wish him nothing but the best of luck as he embarks on new opportunities in his racing career, and we couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds for JCM Motorsports,” Miller concluded. “We’re still evaluating our plans for the 2024 campaign. We’ve got some great marketing partners, who support this program, and with Spencer in the driver’s seat and these great partners behind us, we know that the sky is the limit.”

    JCM Motorsports with Spencer Hughes in the driver’s seat will make their debut this weekend at East Alabama Motor Speedway for the 2023 edition of the National 100. The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series event posts a $49,000 winner’s check for the Super Late Model division.
