I thunk that you would have been happy about it since The Watermelon Guy had a very good chance to win it ? ? He ended on up being a second late and some money short. . .

Yepper, but I surmise that the guy with the melon head has more going on up inside of it than the other racer guy with the coconut head ?

This hasn't been a RACE for decades. It's just a bunch of equally prepared cars running together trying to avoid disaster. It will never ever be a RACE again.

The so called winner triggered a 24 car crash and escaped unharmed. The race continues to be a joke as far as being the Nascar premier race. Stupid luck is what it takes.

    216.309 mph
"The Big One" Speeds in excess of 200 mph (320 km/h) are commonplace at Talladega. Talladega has the record for the fastest recorded speed by a NASCAR vehicle on a closed oval course, with the record of 216.309 mph (348.116 km/h) set by Rusty Wallace on June 9, 2004.

If we take 200 mph as a nice round terminal velocity for a restricted engine, removing the plates and doubling the engine power to 900 hp would only increase the terminal velocity for the unrestricted engine to 252 mph. That’s pretty surprising – you double the engine power and you only get 50 mph more.

Restrictor plates started at Daytona in 1988.

I’d just be happy if they changed the bumpers so they can’t bump draft

Shank Meter Racing recorded another milestone in 2013, when Colin Braun drove his DP to a pair of FIA-sanctioned world records in the 10 kilometers and 10 miles at Daytona International Speedway. Braun also shattered the track record with a lap of 222.971 mph, breaking Bill Elliott's 26-year-old mark of 210.364 mph.
