Just because you have some of the best in your corner doesn't always mean that will translate into instant success. I will evaluate the teams success at the end of the year. It's only been a few months and they're leading WOO points for now. I believe they've won a race or two, they've probably passed more cars than anyone else. Until they get the short game (qualifying) figured out they will have to keep passing a lot of cars.

Shepp has won a few big races in the horn and will be good in anything he drives but you can’t convince me that he wouldn’t be better in a rocket. They fit his style way better.

2 wins in close to 30 races this year, that is not a small sample size, I told buddies last year already the way he was going in a Longhorn he has not driven his last Rocket

Exactly what Pennsboro32 said, Sheppards driving style fits a Rocket better, same thing for Hudson O'Neal.

Personally if he would have picked rocket I think he would have had a car under him that he was comfortable in. I also think he could have picked up the phone and talked to his old crew for support. You guys are right for the time being, that horn does not suit his driving style.

on paper they should be as good as anybody, something is missing though. hes a cushion pounder and rockets are the best in the mud, theyll get it figured out

The only thing he isn't doing well is qualifying. There's zero reason to panic.

I doubt seeing Sheppy in a Rocket anytime soon. IMO the move to Longhorn was a calculated move and subtle statement to MR and the Rocket camp. I'm guessing BShepp didn't want to go to another Rocket based team and have to call Shinnston for purchases and setup advice, I got the feeling he was glad to be done with that bunch.

Once he gets his qualifying down pat in the Longhorn, winning will be frequent.

Bet Bshepp wins that……I’ll go ahead and lock that in.
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

BBQ, that's a track that he can win at even if he qualifies poorly. It will more than likely be won on the cushion. If he or Pierce dominate on the top, I'll personally lay to rest that you need a Rocket to blast the cushion.

I don’t think either one of them will have a problem finding the cushion…..if they both don’t wreck each other going for the lead I think B5 gets it done.

That may be true but that is like saying the only thing a golfer is doing wrong is he can’t putt. If you can’t qualify you are hosed.

He's been getting to the podium fairly often. Agree it's harder to pass than it should be, but it can be done still.

Chip ins are rare, I'm not sure I agree with the comparison.

Just what is Sheppard's driving style and why doesn't the longhorn fit his driving style?
