Bluegrass State Doubleheader Next for Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) With five Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco events in the books with five different race winners, the tour will invade the Bluegrass State for two more shows on April 19-20. Up first will be a visit to the legendary Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky on Friday for the $7,553 to win ‘Finn Watson Memorial.’ The doubleheader weekend will then conclude at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Saturday, as the annual ‘Johnny Wheeler Memorial’ will boast a $10,053 first place prize.

At Ponderosa on Friday night, the pit gates will open at 2:00pm and the grandstands will start to allow patrons into the facility starting an hour later at 3:00pm. The Drivers Meeting will start at 6:30pm, while Hot Laps will take to the racetrack at 7:00pm. Grandstand admission will be $30.00 for adults, while kids ages 10 and under will be admitted for FREE. Pit admission into the ‘Finn Watson Memorial’ will be $45.00.

Joining the ground-pounding Super Late Models will be the Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,200 to win), Pro Late Models ($1,200 to win), Crown Vics ($400 to win), and Hobby Stocks. The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series has made four previous visits to Ponderosa Speedway with Mike Marlar ('14), Michael Chilton ('16), Brandon Overton ('17), and Michael Chilton ('18) reaching victory lane. The track is located at 365 Phillips Lane in Junction City, Kentucky 40440. For more information, email bhardgrove22@gmail.com or point your web browser to www.PonderosaSpeedway.net.

At Lake Cumberland on Saturday evening, the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series will make our first-ever stop at the 3/8-mile red clay oval, as last year’s scheduled event was washed out. Along with the Super Late Models shelling out a $10,053 payday, other classes on the card are Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,200 to win), Pro Late Models ($1,200 to win), Hobby Stocks ($500 to win), and FWD Mini Stocks ($500 to win).

The pit gates will swing open at 2:00pm and the grandstands will once again open at 3:00pm. The Drivers Meeting is slated for 6:30pm and Hot Laps for the ‘Johnny Wheeler Memorial’ are scheduled for 7:00pm. Adult grandstand admission will be $30.00 and kids ages 10 and under will be allowed into the stands for FREE. Pit admission will be $45.00.
