Greensburg PA's Davey Johnson made his first start of 2011 at PPPMS a winning one, taking the first of the Twin 28's of the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models. Chad McClellan and Danny Mitchell brought the field down for the start, with McClellan leading at the drop of the green. Sixth starting Johnson took over on lap two, and while he led the rest of the way, he had to withstand a strong challenge early from Keith Barbara who made it tough for him on the restarts. Barbara ran second until Jared Miley took over the spot on lap 15. Miley reeled in Johnson as the race wore on and challenged him in the last few laps, almost getting by in turns one and two on lap 26. Johnson held him off, and picked up the win, with Miley in second followed by Devon Friese, Brandon Burgoon, Daryl Charlier, Keith Barbara, Matt Lux, John Mollick, Chad McClellan, and Danny Mitchell. For Johnson it was his 46th career PPMS Late Model win while he was subbing for his brother Mike in the 2J who was at a wedding.

The second 28 lap event went to Rayland OH's Mike Davis as he picked up his first win of the season and 5th career PPMS and first win since 2007. An invert 12 put Davis in second on the start and grabbed the lead at the outset. John Mollick moved into second and chased Davis. Meanwhile Davey Johnson came from 12th to 4th by lap 7. By lap 14 he was third and second on lap 16, when a pair of lapped cars tangled in front of Johnson and third running Mollick, collecting both. Mollick was towed off, while Johnson pitted and did not return. This put Chad McClellan and Jared Miley behind on the restart. Miley moved into second on lap 18, and got close to Davis, but Davis was able to pull away in the closing laps. At the end it was Davis, Miley, Burgoon, McClellan (in his best ever PPMS run), Friese, Lux, Barbara, Norris, John Garvin (who tagged the wall in the first feature and went to the pits), and Jim Lepro. The three UFO heats were won by Devin Friese, Jared Miley and Davey Johnson. Jason Rider hit a UTE tire in his heat and was done for the night. Jim Stephans was scheduled to start on the pole of the second event, but pitted before the race went to green with overheating problems. Daryl Charlier, Herman Bertolini, Tom Bateman and Tony Musolino did not start the second event due to overheating/mechanical problems.

The Brougher's Machine Shop Fastrak Crate Late Models saw Burgettstown PA's Kyle Lukon grab his third feature of 2011. Lukon started 8th and ran down race long leader Mark Moats Jr., defending PPMS point champ, who was looking for his first win of the season. Lukon caught Moats on lap 13 after Moats had built up a huge lead, and won going away. Moats ended up second followed by Justin Lamb, Rick Meglaye, Colton Flinner, Tom Schirnhofer, Scott Schempp, newcomer Tom Klein, Ken Chernik, and Mike Reft. It was Kyle Lukon's 20th career win. Scott Schempp won a career first heat race, with Kyle Lukon winning the other heat. Laura Lukon had mechanical problems and was not able to start the feature.

The Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTcar Cadets saw opening night winner Nick Kocuba Imperial PA, pick up his second win of the season. Kocuba started 10th, and took the lead off Mike Duritsky on a lap 4 restart. Duritsky, making his first start of the season, led from lap 2 and fell back to third, came back up to pass Charlie DiLoreto for second, then get by Kocuba on lap 10, only to slow and pull off with mechanical problems. Kocuba got the win followed by DiLoreto, Jake Simmons (who was looking for fifth win in a row), Wayne Carbo, Pat Weldon, Josh Langer, Dave Slade, Mike Mohn, Curt Bish and Duritsky. It was Kocuba's seventh career PPMS win.

The Miley RV Service UMP E-Mods had Saltsburg PA's Jonathan Taylor pick up his second win of the season. Taylor started and methodically worked his way thru the field taking the lead on lap 8 from early leader Vince Laboon. Taylor held off a strong challenge late in the race from Clayton Kennedy to grab the win. Chris Basich was third followed by Shawn Domhoff, Tom Martineck, Kevin Miller, Denny Nakutis, George Nicola, Laboon, and Rich Curry. Jonathan Taylor and Clayton Kennedy won the heats. Last week's winner Bruce Takach tapped the wall and got a flat and had to pit.

Ed Wiser McKees Rocks PA, won his first feature of the season in the Miley BP Car Wash Hobby Stocks. Wiser took the lead and held off a strong challenge from Joe Podolinsky to pick up the win. Ricky Steigerwald was third followed by Dan Duseheid, Richard Wilson, Chase Evans, Hannah Ramsey, Ian Tomei and Adam Chytil. The heat was won by Ian Tomei.

Carnegie PA's Logan Crewl won his third feature of the season and second in a row in the Imperial Heights Garage Young Guns. Crewl beat Adam Carson, Bernie Blair Jr. and Todd Weldon for the win.
