I run a 900 left and an 800 right, on weight jacks.

Have run it 800 left and 900 right before but it felt like the car couldn't get onto the right front hard enough, and would push.

    Default What I use.

RF: 1100 or 1050...higher banked tracks use bigger spring.
    LF: 950
    RR: 225
    LR: 275

    1300?!!!? What the heck?!

    I went to

900/800 after jeff suggested it...it was a good change.

have 225/200 in the rear, gonna try a 175 right rear this weekend.

Dont see whats up with the rates over 1000, these cars dont weigh THAT much

Roy I agree. I race at 3150 most of the time and run 800-700 and ran 680-630 for a year with 9 wins, 16 2nds etc.

Even in my big full size malibu I ran 750-700.

The stiff spring car I bought the guy stacks the lead behind the cell high so the rear56-58% and it is always pulling a wheelie because the weight is so far behind the rear springs it leverages the front of the car up. the springs in front do nothing, the springs in the rear are basically doing nothing, he just races with a lot of static rear wt and slings the back of the car around to turn etc.

A lot of guys race like that, no big deal. Its easy to pass them when you run a set up like I do and the front of your car steers with steering wheel input and the rear is under you not all over the place.

Thank you for all the input. Seems like everyone is close on their setups. Now I know the Monte Carlo runs a 9.5 x 5.5 coil... Has anyone tried running 8.5 x 5.5 lower the car down alittle?

We run wt jacks to LEVEL the car with the 9.5 lowering the car can be done with them..

fyi- the front suspension is designed to be LEVEL.

my I-stock weighs 3200-ish. still run the soft springs, and around 49% rear.

I always set my ride height so the right upper is level, and the left runs uphill tword the wheel a few degrees.

What's the reason for running a heavier spring on the lf is it just to make the RF seem softer or does it plant lf better. Maybe combo of reasons.

Always run the stiff spring on the left front, been doing it since 1993 even when I ran pavement.

I believe it lets the car mechanically remove bite on entry so the car isnt soo loose you cant enter the corner while having a lot of bite for drive off.

I also think its possible the softer rf and the car tipping onto the rf may unhook the left rear and help the car to turn much better. Maybe it adds traction to the rf, Im not positive I just know it works for me very well and at least a dozen other people that run my complete set up package.

I ran 800-780 tonight and felt it hindered me for sure, I tried it because this track notoriously has a car sized hole up top and I was thinking it would help me get thru there, but I think it really really hurt me middle to low where there was moisture, I pretty much sucked down there.

Ill know more tomorrow when I go back and try for a better spot on the outside row. I got 2nd in heat and 4th in pole dash for inside row. Im going to put soft rf back in and change motors.
