Official Announcement 1/23/2012 ::
..Its been a little over a year since race fans have heard the thunder of Horsepower in the hills of Crooksville, Ohio where so many legends and heros of dirt track racing has raced for decades . The Crooksville Speedplant better known as the Midway Speedway and home of the prestigous Jim Dunn Memorial sat idle for the entire 2010 racing season. Im So excited to announce That’s all about to change thanks to David Pryor and Phil Stallings Jr. of Newark, Ohio who has formed a Motorsports Partnership Team and will be called RED CLAY PROMOTIONS (RCP).

..RCP will be leasing the Speedway for the entire 2012 season. Both men have been involved in Motorsports all there lives and have been watching races at Midway Speedway for many years and said they just couldn’t watch it rot any longer . They wanted to step in and get it going again , so that’s what they have done.

..There was alot of talk about switching the name of the speedway , but After reading what the fans wanted, they have decided to keep the Midway Speedway name alive .

..The classes that will race in 2012 on Regular nights will consist of Super Late Models, Modifieds (Sanctioning ?), Pure Stocks (Wayne County and Hilltop rules), Outlaw 4-Cylinders (MCS Rules), & Kids Mini-Wedge (ages 6 – 14) . All Rules will be out within the next few days along with the complete Guaranteed purses , all new website, and everything you will need to stay completely updated on all the information here at Midway Speedway . Please be patient as they are working as hard as they can and we will update everyone every step of the way with speedway pictures as they get it going .

.. RCP has slated Mid-May, 2012 will be the goal set for the 2012 Grand Opening. This will give them plenty of time , weather permitting, to get all the necessary repairs done and get the track back in shape . They are planning on running clear thru October or as long as the weather and crowds continue to hold up . The regular night they are wanting to run will be announced very soon and a full schedule will be coming as we add the dates .
