MORAN & BOWEN WIN ON LAST LAP PASSES
What a great night it was for racing here at Muskingum County Speedway . Track was in great shape and drivers were very eager to get on the track for opening night .
..In the Mchugh Dodge Jeep Late Model class we all got see the young gun Cody Parker in the Sean Weekly Electric #63 get out to an early lead , after about five laps were down Donnie Moran began his hunt for victory . After Cautions on lap 6, 7 & 12 you could see Moran setting up his last lap move as he began running closer and closer to the top of the race track . On the last lap , Donnie Moran moved to the highside and shot passes Cody Parker coming out of turn 4 to claim victory here on opening night .
..In the Mchugh Dodge Jeep Modifieds Feature, Rick Aukland and Jess Hartman was on the pole as they set the pace early. On lap 5 Jesse Wisecarver worked his way passed Hartman and Aaron Scott and had his eyes glued to back bumper of Auklands car for the next 7 laps . On lap 12 Aaron Scott began running the leaders down getting passed Jess Hartman and Jerry Farmer and running side by side with Wisecarver for second for about two straight laps. Aukland eventually pulled away for the victory with Scott second, Hartman third. Larry Moran drove his Mod up thru the field from 12th - 4th and was named Hard Charger of the Night .
..In the Dennys Classic Diner Street Stock class Kyle (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)inson of Zanesville led the way from green to checkered . Tim Glassburn of newark Ohio ran a strong second followed by Ryan Wisecarver.
..In the Crenos Pizza Outlaw 4-Cylinder Feature event Brad Richards set the pace as he set on the pole after his first heat race win of his career. The green flag dropped and the engines soared coming out of turn 4, Jr. Dermer took the outside groove and blasted out into the lead as Dennis Adkins, Brad Richards, John Schooler, and Bradley Gebhart all battled over second . On Lap 2 Brad Richards blowed a motor and the caution was out . Jr Dermer would lead the rest of the way but Bradley Gebhart was so close to him on every lap it was like they were chained together . This group of cars really put on a spectacular show for the fans . Dermer wins, Gebhart second, Jeremy Krouskoupf gets third after charging up from his 9th starting spot .
..In the Mini Wedge class Blake Morris blasted into the lead on the start and would stay there until on lap 4 when Levi Bowen made a move in turn 4 and got around Morris but Morris would charge back and get the lead back on the white flag lap . In turn one Bowen moved to the outside as the two were side by side coming out of turn 2 when Morris car seemed to have broke something and fell off the pace . At the line it was Levi Bowen winning his first Feature at Muskingum County Speedway .
It was a great night of racing . Next week were paying $3,000 to win for the Mchugh Dodge Jeep Late Models . Its the annual "THE MEMORIAL" coming at you next Friday night May 18th.
