Gilpin, Kramer and Rayburn score CMC wins

In the U.S. Race Gear Cincinnati Modified Championship presented by Gabbard's Mt. Orab Ford this past week some familiar names showed up in victory lane. Devin Gilpin would be victorious at Moler Raceway Park with Joey Kramer showing up in Lawrenceburg Speedways winner circle. At Brushcreek Motorsports Complex it was the same last name we have seen a couple times but instead of Jeremy Rayburn it was his Father Tim taking the win.

Moler Raceway Park- there were 27 cars on hand and it was a struggle to get things going as there were numerous cautions for relatively minor spins that kept slowing the action but it was Gilpin out front with Rhodes in pursuit. Adkins was running in 3rd spot until spinning on lap four and having to restart from the tail of the field. He was then the man on the move as he passed cars on the high side and worked his way back to the top five. In the end there was no stopping “Kid Dasco” as he claimed his 7th feature win of the season at MRP and 8th CMC win on the season in his Impressive Racecar. Adkins would narrowly edge out Rhoades for the second spot. The Mods will be back at Moler this Friday Night.

Lawrenceburg Speedway- Joey Kramer started from the 5th position but it didn’t take long for him to get to the lead. In fact, Kramer took the lead on the first lap and lead all 20. The 20 lap feature was slowed by several cautions but the racing was good for second place on back. Several drivers came from deep in the field. Adam Hamilton started 12th and made his way all the way up to 2nd. Richard Luckey would start from the pole and hold on to third at the checkered flag. The Budweiser UMP modifieds return the Lawrenceburg next Saturday night.

Brushcreek Motorsports Complex-After wrecking his primary car at Southern Ohio Speedway on Friday, Dave Jamison’s crew thrashed to get his backup car ready to roll on Saturday. Jamison was also looking for two in a row but the father-son duo of Tim and Jeremy Rayburn were also in the hunt. Tim Rayburn jumped out to the early lead and was pressured by Jamison, who was pressured by Jeremy Rayburn, all race long but prevailed in the end! Tim Rayburn picked up his first win at Brushcreek in 2012 and was followed by Dave Jamison and Jeremy Rayburn. Brushcreek is in action this week with car load Night on Saturday.

Points will be updated later in the week!
