    Default 2.3 oiling issues

Getting back into racing after a few years off. Wanting to make sure i do everything right on this build. I scattered a couple of 2.3 last time i raced. Always the #1 cylinder. Rod bearing clearances are between 2 and 2 1/2. Gonna be running Brad Penn 15/40 with big oil pan and windage tray. Have good 5.7 rods and will be turning somewhere between 7600-8000 rpm. Will be using stock volume oil pump. Have always used high volume, gonna try stock to try to keep more oil in bottom end. Any suggestions?? Gonna try and run it a race or two, pull it out and check bearings. Thanks for any input, just dont wanna take any chances this time.

Is this on an engine with or without an oil restrictor to the head? If you're running a solid or solid roller cam you can put a flow restrictor into the oil feed port for the head and force more oil through the mains. There's a pretty good thread discussing the proper size restrictor just a way down the board.
