Brad Neat Bags 4th Annual Harold Hardgrove Memorial at Lake Cumberland Speedway

Burnside, KY-August 18, 2012- The 4th Annual Harold Hardgrove Memorial would take place at Lake Cumberland Speedway on Saturday evening and Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY would become the fourth different winner of the event and take the $4,000 payday. Other feature event winners would include Jimmy Payne of Glasgow, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman, and Doug Radford of Burkesville, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Terry English and Brad Neat would bring the 18 car starting field to the green flag for the 50 lap, $4,000 to win 4th Annual Harold Hardgrove Memorial event, with Neat taking the race lead, while English, Tim Tungate, Michael Chilton, and Victor Lee would give chase. Neat would set a rapid pace at the point, only to be slowed by the only caution of the event on lap 9 when Michael Asberry slowed in turn two. Back underway, Neat would again scoot away from the pack and would begin the process of lapping slower traffic by lap 19, while Tungate and Chilton would battle for third. Neat would turn up the pace even more in traffic and would have lapped up to the ninth place car by lap 40. Things would get interesting for third on lap 46 when 13th starting Dustin Neat would get under Chilton for fourth and work past Tungate for a half lap only to slip in turn two and allow Tungate and Chilton to work back around him. Brad Neat would go untouched throughout the event and see the checkered flag first aboard the Neat Racing owned Red Buck Cigars/Neat’s Service Center/Begley’s General Store sponsored #41 B&B Motorsports Race Car powered by a Cornett Race Engine. Terry English would take runner-up honors, while Tungate, Chilton, and Dustin Neat completed the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Victor Lee, Justin Rattliff, Tanner English, Chris Combs, and Rod Carter, Jr. Brad Neat would be the overall top qualifier among 30 entries in group time trials at 13.155 seconds. Heat race victories fell to Michael Chilton, Brad Neat, Tim Tungate, and Terry English. The B-Mains were won by Dustin Neat and Dillan White. Track provisionals were Michael England (time) and Todd Coffman (track).

The 25 lap, $1,000 to win Modified main event would see Jimmy Payne take the lead at the start of the event and lead the entire distance in picking up the win behind the wheel of the Richard Harlow owned Maximum Energy Development/Barren River Pest Control/Diamond Auto Collision/Crawford’s Auto Repair/Young’s Barber Shop sponsored #155 Bandit Race Car powered by a Runion Race Engine. Ricky Arms would finish second, while Elliott Despain, Ben Petrey, and Keith Denny completed the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Mikah Reams, Chad Scott, Tim Patrick, Joe David Turner, and Bill Oatts. Twenty Modified saw Ricky Arms as top qualifier, with heat race wins going to Arms, Payne, and Despain, while Tommy Bailey won the B-Main.

The Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman feature event would see Keith Decker run away from the field and score yet another feature win in the division in the seat of his unsponsored #2. Defending track champion Tim McMullin would finish, while Scott Hutchinson claimed third. Sarah Patrick and Glenn Branham would round out the running order. Five entries would also see Decker win the heat.

The Front Wheel Drive feature event would see third place starter Doug Radford take the lead on the opening lap of the race and hold off the charges of Adam Gregory to take the win in his first appearance of the season in his Radford Racing sponsored #3x Integra. Gregory would take second, with Jeremy Strunk, Scott Tomlinson, and Jayson Henderson completing the top five.
