    Lake Cumberland Speedway Rocks Into New Month with Racing Saturday September 1

    Burnside, KY-August 26, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff are set to rocket into the month of September with a Saturday night of racing competition on Labor Day weekend 2012 with a full program of racing set for Saturday evening September 1 at the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval.

    The Saturday September 1 racing event will feature the Super Late Model division racing 25 laps for $1,000 to win in their main event. The Modified division will also be in competition and will race 20 laps for $600 to win in their division’s feature race contest. Joining the Super Late Models and Modifieds on the Saturday September 1 racing program will be the Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman racing 15 laps for $300 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing 10 laps for $100 (8 car minimum). The Super Late Model and Modified divisions will time trial, while the Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman and Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for heat race starting positions. All divisions will also have qualifying heats to set their respective divisions feature event line-up.

    Activities for the Saturday September 1 racing event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with a mandatory drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m. Practice is set to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Saturday September 1
    racing event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 10, and children ages 5 and under will be free. A pit pass will be $30.

    Lake Cumberland Speedway last presented racing competition on Saturday August 25 and feature event winners that evening included Dillan White of Crofton, KY in Super Late Models, Ricky Arms of Moss, TN in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman, and Scott Tomlinson of Somerset, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

    Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.
