    Default Oil pump change?

I finally had an engine builder build us a complete engine instead of doing it myself. Its a 355, unported vortec heads, solid cam, performer intake, 4412. On to my question, he used a big block oil pump in this build. Who do some of the old guys do that? Am I loosing power needlessly with it? I used to use the 10552 or 10555 on my builds, would I find power going back? Other options?

Back in the early days, the big block pump used to be the only high volume pump. There were no 10555's or 10552's etc. Personally, I don't think the "power" difference, if any, would be much to be concerned about.
