    A. Mufflers are MANDATORY. SCH112530 or SCH112535 are legal. Use of Hush power muffler part#13012100 or 13512100 receives 50 lb. weight break. B. Exhaust is not permitted out sides of car body. Exhaust must be parallel to the ground. C. Dirt Pro Mufflers are prohibited due to manufacturers claims stating the inability to meet required DB levels.

from boyds site , as per their website no decibel rule, only illegal muffler dirt pro which they were not

There is an "unwritten" decibel rule. Tech man said it must be under 100 decibels no matter what muffler.

I have a question.Rays mufflers was protested by another driver? That was a visual protest right? he wanted to visualy look at them?Go to the steel head rules it plainly says all visual protest must be made before the race.... meaning spoiler height, tire protest, check for muffler brand or look inside to see if they have been welded up.you get the picture. The only protest that should be allowed after the race would be a decibal check... better yet the track should have checked the mufflers before hot laps .it suck when you race all night and get done like this the guys a few places back have the same mufflers on and probb some people won in other class with the same mufflers and get there wins and money...

Tech man said that the mufflers are always checked after the race. And it's not a visual protest. That question was asked during the dq discussion. Ray had called the track a week before the race and he was told to bring the car with the mufflers that were on it! I personally think it was about protecting the locals. I heard a big sponsor of some local cars was doing the most complaining.

Time to move on bc the mufflers were wrong. Several drivers wanted the mufflers looked at and yes Boyd's always checks the mufflers after the race.

    Cool

5 more laps and the 22 car would've passed cook. at the checkers, 22's right front was beside cook's left rear!

3 people which included promoter and track owner , checked the car with a camera up in the muffler, said not exactly what they wanted but it was ok , if they came back have different ones next time, they said that's the same thing they did for crate cars the week before.they went had there picture made and then called them back over and wanted to check there heads after those were determined legal they said they were good they were legal , then as they were loading 20 minutes later they came back and wanted to take header off and look at muffler again, then they went over away from everyone with the sponsor of the 22 and came back and said we hate to do this but we have to disqualify you, so I guess when you sponsor 6 or 7 cars at the track you get your way. and for the genius that said if they would have had 5 more laps 22 would have passed him anyway, last time I checked they don't pay the fastest car , they pay the first one to the checkers, except in this case then its the sponsor who threatens not to bring his cars back.

You want to talk cherry picking? Then what would happen if you took out every driver that was in the field with super experience? You'd eliminate at least a quarter of the field, including Thomas. So Thomas would be a cherry picker too. And ray had just as much right to run limited as anyone else there. He paid his entry fee just like everyone else did.

There is a difference in late experience and a proffesional.but what does it mean when they say it's not what they wanted but it's ok they were either right or wrong.
