    Default 2.3 Ford lifter issues

Has anyone else had problems with 2.3 Ford hyd lifters "mushrooming" the crimped on tops? Once this happens the engine either misses and/or runs "flat" at the upper rpm range. I've been having this issue for the last few weeks. Engine guy says springs are set correct. RPM has been between 7500 & 7800. Using std oil pump and 20w-50 oil.

Any help into what is causing this or how I can fix the problem?

    Thanks

110-125 seat 250-275 open spring pressure. .040-.050 lash with lifter collapsed.

Dirt lover is correct! Sounds like you have exceeded the rpm that you have springs to control!

    Thanks for the information guys.

Big E, do you stock springs that would fit my application and if so, what is the part number?

They also have printable instructions on their site on setting up hydraulic heads.
