Farney takes IN & IL Lightning Sprint Challenge @ US 24 Speedway

The AMSA and the ILSS cars were in action in the 1st IN & IL challenge race at the US 24 Speedway in Logansport IN on Sat night. There were 7 cars from each group to put on a great show for the fans. The 1st of two 10 lap heat races was picked off by Aaron Farney, Brad Funk finished in the runner up spot with Sam Borden 3rd and Josh Brienen ni 4th spot. The 2nd 10 lap heat was won by Austin Archdale with Jimmy Wood 2nd, Billy Brickley 3rd, and Brent Burrows in 4th spot. Austin Archdale would do the pill draw for the 30 lap feature event with the #2 drawn. This inverted 4 cars for the feature event. This would put Brad Funk and Jimmy Wood on the front row for the start. The green came out and Woods car did not come up to speed and a big group of cars got tangled up in turn 2 with Austin Archdale's car ending up with a left rear tire flat. Austin would have to go to the back on the start. Josh Brienen was involved & was pushed to the pits with engine problems. On the restart Brad Funk would grab the lead with Aaron Farney and Billy Brickley in a fierce battle for 2nd spot. A caution on lap 7 would bunch up the field with Brad in 1st spot. Aaron would slip past Billy into 2nd and then used the high side to get by Brad for the lead. Brad running 2nd on lap 20 came to a stop in turn 4 and another caution came out. Mike Fedorcak who came from outside row 5 to move into 3rd spot and Brent Burrows who came from back after an earlier spin to the # 4 position. Jake Sollenberger had the best run of the night and came from 14th starting spot to finish a strong 5th place .Clayton Gains made a strong run fron inside row 6 to finish in the runner up spot in the A main.
