    Default rear end set up?

I remember in the stock car classes a rule of thumb was the jack the rear end up, and you should see the LR come off the ground about 0.5 to 1 inch before the RR. Does this apply to sportmods also?

I thought the RR should come up first, not the LR.

Confused is correct. But today you have some many things different across the back of the car that this doesn't apply. Different coilover location heights, spring rates, etc.

You can have a good deal more lr weight and have it come up first.

The 1st car I ever bought had a piece of angle iron welded to the bottom of the rear axle centered to the brake rotors. I was instructed to put a large socket on the jack and place it right on the angle iron and raise the car. Adjust the weight bias so that a 2x4 lumber would just slide under the RR while the left just touched the ground. I don't know how accurate this was because I built my own scales and used those but I suppose it's less important how you do it as long as you do it the same way every time.

I have seen Jeff Taylor set up my car with a socket and tape measure and win 2 nights in a row with some pretty stiff competition. It may depend on what type of car your running. It works with my Taylor chassis lr up before rr 1/2 to an inch is 50 to 70 lr bite. I have checked it with a set of scales and is pretty close.

Ok thanks for the replies. My RR comes up at least an inch before the LR.
