Default Just when you think NASCAR can't get any worse...

Brian France's exact words in a press conference today. "We decided that due to the totality of the events that were outside of Jeff Gordon's issues, we're going to add a 13th position to the field so that Jeff Gordon will qualify for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship this year," France told reporters packed into Chicagoland Speedway's media center. "We believe that there were too many things that altered the event that gave an unfair disadvantage to Jeff and his team, who would have qualified. It's just the right thing to do.

"I have the authority to do that, and we are going to do that. It is an unprecedented and extraordinary thing, but it is also an unprecedented and extraordinary set of circumstances that unfolded in multiple different ways on Saturday night. We believe this is the right outcome to protect the integrity, which is the No. 1 goal of NASCAR."

Please feel free to make any opinionated comments.

Nascar is just mad that MWR beat them at their own game. The way they have chase setup, anyone above 3 grade math skills and a team mate can figure out how to manipulate the outcome of the race as far as point standings go. This is a produce of Nascar exteremly dumb idea of the chase format. Now that they have set the president that they can add and subtract people from there stupid chase, maybe they should wait till Tony Stewart is healed up to start the chase..

So what is the difference between a point gotten in June and one gotten at Richmond? Don't team mates generally let each other lead for a point now and then? Whats the difference between that and what MWR did? You got it, nothing....
