CARTERSVILLE, GA – There are still 13 drivers battling for the third through tenth points-fund paying positions in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings with two weeks to go in the 2013 season. Week 26 will have a limited schedule of four races, but two of them are paying $1,000-to-win.

NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 26 action will begin on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS. On Saturday night, Battleground in Highlands, TX and Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will host $1,000-to-win races. West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO will also be in action on Saturday night.

The top two spots in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings have already been decided with Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS taking the $10,000 Championship with a perfect best 14 week total of 700 points representing 14 50-point wins. The only improvement Daspit can make in the last two weeks of the season is to increase his 15 win total.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS has clinched the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series runner-up spot with a best 14 week total of 694 points. Palasini can still net points in the remaining two weeks of the season. By netting on a 48 and a 49, Palasini can earn a possible 697 points.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 689 points. In the last two weeks of the season, “The General” will be looking to net on two 48s, and earn a possible total of 693 points.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL is fourth with a best 14 week total of 686 points. Dudley can still net on a 45 and a 47 with the potential to earn a total of 694 points. That has the possibility to tie him with Palasini for second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, but Palasini has the tie-breaker advantage with one more 50-point win.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS has made a last season rally to shoot up to the fifth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 677 points. Williams has the potential to keep moving up in the standings during the last two weeks of the season by netting on a 41 and a 46 that could bring his season point total to as high as 690.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS started off the season strong, and even led the point standings for a couple of weeks, but lost his ride at mid-season and fell outside the Top 20 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings.

Arnold has regrouped with another team, and has raced his way back up to the sixth spot NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 675 points. In the last two weeks of the season, Arnold will try to net on two 44s that gives the “Hattiesburg Hustler” the potential to end the season with a total of 687 points.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY holds the seventh spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 673 points. Glisson will try to net on two 44s in the last two weeks of the season and could earn a possible total of 685 points by the end of the season.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is eighth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 669 points. The “Florence Flash” can earn a possible total of 677 points at the end of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season by winning out and netting on two 46s.

Another driver that will be trying to net on two 46s in the last two weeks of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season is the ninth-place driver, Robby Moore of Brosley, MO. Moore has a best 14 week total of 668 points and could earn a possible 676 points by the end of the season.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings and currently holds the final points fund-paying spot with a best 14 week total of 665 points. Cooper can net on two 44s in the last two weeks of the season that could bring his season total up to 677 points.

There are five drivers in the second ten of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings that have a mathematical opportunity to race their way into the Top 10 of the point standings and earn a seat at the banquet table.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS is 11th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 total of 663 points. In the last two weeks of the season, “Big Nasty” can net on two 45s and the potential to end the season with a total of 673 points. Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS is 12th with a best 14 week total of 657 points and he can net on a 43 and a 44 that could bring his season total up to 670 points.

Roger Witt of Batesville, AR is 13th in the standings and can net on a 41 and a 45 in the last two weeks of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season that could bring his season total up to 670 points. Ricky Waggoner of Martin, TN raced his way back into the Top 20 and is tied with Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL for the 15th spot.

Waggoner and Ponder each have a best 14 week total of 647 points. In the last two weeks of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season, Waggoner can net on a 25 and a 41 that could bring his season total up to 681 points. Ponder can net on a 39 and a 41 that could bring his season total up to 667 points.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 29. Drivers can compete in as many events available to then each week, only their best event point total for that week will count.

Once a driver reaches the 14-week point in their NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season, they will begin to net points, by trying to replace the lowest weekly point total with a higher one.
