Default Is a Dampner considered a shock?

    Hello,

I just bought a Modified that has a Coilover on the LR plus a Dampner on the left side also. I asked the previous owner if the Dampner is considered a shock and he said no...? What do you think? He also has the car set-up with a coilover on the RR but on the rear of the birdcage? Ive seen them on the front of the birdcage? What are your thoughts on that? Thanks

Just some education.... It's damper. If it has resistance in compression, rebound, or both, then yes it is a shock damper. If no resistance, then it is just a limiting device. Shock absorber=shock damper.
