Bypass regulator lets you set idle pressure and WOT pressure more or less independently. This will keep you from blowing the needles off the seats at idle and still get enough fuel at WOT. IMO, this is the only way to go on alky. Set your idle pressure at idle (duh) then rev up the motor to around 3K to set your running fuel pressure.

I have run both and if both are setup right both work very well.

I run the ProCam 15 psi one (Speedway) with no problems. I have heard about reliability issues with this pump, but I haven't had any trouble with mine thru one season.

    Whatever brand, I'd suggest a high-volume, 15 psi pump.

Funny Story...I spent all day one day trying to get fuel pressure set correctly after a problem with a plugged filter. I rechecked everything including diassembling the pump trying to clean out the valves. Eventually I called Pro Cam for help and while they were super nice on the phone and super helpful they made me feel dumb because they helped me realize I was using a 11psi pump instead of what I thought was a 7psi pump! Apparently that's what the number means stamped in the top lol.
