    Default Quick change gears

Just got a new modified and it has a quick change in it. My question is how many points do I need to go up from going to a 9" rear end to a quick chang to stay the same? Used a 6.00 gear in the 9" and want to keep as close to that as possible. I didn't change class so it was a mod with a 9".

No need to change gear ratios. Run as close as you can get to what you had ( 597 or 602) Mount the panhard bar 1 1/2" higher relative to the pinion on the quickchange, because the pinion is closer to the ground with a quickchange.

Thank you. The quick change was already in the car and setup.

Josh, I agree with HD to start with. To supplement that, all things remaining equal, my experience has been that the difference is anywhere from 10 to 20 points. So a 9" 6:00 set up might lead to a 6:07 to a 6:21. Just try your normal gear and see if it feels right, then if it doesn't move it 10 points or so.
