Billy Moyer Sweeps Program at KLMS for Fourteenth Win of 2014; Knoxville Next!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer racked up his fourteenth feature victory of the 2014 campaign on Saturday, September 20 in his first visit of the season to the newly reopened Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky! Billy paced the field during qualifying by setting Fast Time with a lap of 14.323 seconds and later scored the win in his heat race. The popular driver known as "Mr. Smooth" then led each and every circuit of the 35-lapper to claim the $3,000 payday over Rodney Melvin, Jason Riggs, Dane Dacus, and Tanner English! Full results from the UMP DIRTcar Series show at KLMS can be viewed online at www.klmsllc.com.

“It was a good night for us at Kentucky Lake – everything performed well and we were able to get the win,” commented Moyer earlier this week. “I haven’t been to that place in several years obviously (since it has been dormant), but the racing surface Saturday night was better than I ever remember it being back in the day. There were three or four different grooves out there and I was just really impressed with the track. I hope the new owners keep having some success and keep building it up.”

Next up for the #21 BMR team will be a trip to the Hawkeye State from September 25-27 for the 11th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ at the hallowed grounds of Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction all of the dirt-slinging action at the 1/2-mile Marion County Fairgrounds oval. The three-day crown jewel event will start later tonight and Friday with a pair of preliminary events, each of which will be capped off with a 25-lap sprint paying $7,000 to the winner.

The culmination of the ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ will then take place on the black dirt on Saturday evening and a whopping $40,000 top prize will be on the line. Saturday’s lineup includes a D-Main, C-Main, B-Main, and the 100-lap ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The award winning Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to film this mega-event that will air on both NBC Sports and the MAVTV American Real Networks in 2014. Billy was the 2010 victor at Knoxville and finished a strong fifth in last year’s extra-distance headliner.
