Default Switched from sbc to sbf in Rocket black

I have a couple questions if I may get help. I have an 05 Rocket black front that has always run a Chevy motor. Super then Crate. The car has always been fast and handled well. I'm now adding extra weight to the front as the Ford (I have been told) is heavier. I have not scaled the car yet, but does anyone have an idea how much the ford adds? And how will this affect the driving? Do I need to change front springs for the added weight or simply adjust ride height but lose suspension travel? I'm running Genesis G3 shocks all 4 corners but will I have to start all over with my settings? I appreciate all insight I can get. Thank you

Not all Chevys weigh the same nor do all Fords.Depends on how heavy the block and components are.

Good point. It had a 604 in it and now has a steel head 351w.

A 604 (as shipped) weighs 375 pounds. That's no carb, pumps, headers, etc.

You have a heavier engine with a bit higher cg. You may need to lower it a bit. One correction to your comment. If ride height is the same, you will not lose available suspension travel.

From a 604 to a 351W Steel head I bet you are gonna gain almost 100# on the nose.

a steel head 351w with a standard weight crank weighs around 550 lbs, to much noes weight, I gave up on them several years ago, had to add to much rear weight.

fastford is right. A 351w steel based engine will weigh in the 550 range and is 175 pounds heavier than a crate.
