    Default Racing Ignition Timing Lights?

In the modern age, I'm now confused. I know for a fact that one should NOT use a 'dial-back' light on the modern digital ignition boxes/distributors. Been there, done that, with inaccurate results. We've used a Flaming River light I purchased nearly 20 years ago. It works fine, but I want to buy a 'spare'. And the modern Flaming River does not have good customer reviews. What are your suggestions for a present-day ACCURATE timing light to use on our modern digital ignition race engines? -Dave-

    Default

New ignition systems fire the spark plug 2 and 3 times on the compression stroke at low R.P.M. Most have to be above 3500 to 4000 R.P.M. to go to single fire per compression stroke . At idle or a little above the timing appears to be jumping around . Bring the R.P.M. up and see if it goes away and the timing is stable .
