    Default engine setback

Our rules allow for 8" of engine setback. We have already fabricated bracketry, etc. Was just curious what advantage we would be looking at over a standard 6" of setback. Steel block, aluminum head.

    1) Easier to get desired rear percentages without being overall over weight
    2) (and maybe more importantly) Decreased moment of inertia

I would go through the work to move it back, take every advantage you can.

Absolutely. Was just curious how significant the changes would be. We also have no weight rule. Last year we were at 2230 with me in the car, 15 gal of gas and 65 pounds of ballast across the back. That got us 54% rear. Was just curious whether it was possible to get our percentages possibly without even needing ballast...
