gm fan
What is the part number for the 19 inch gm fan
-
It should be GM 405442 or 809-405442
-
what is the differance in the all-star 4 blade has the same pitch
-
never seen an Allstar blade with the same 45º pitch as the GM.
Unless they just started having them make
I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.
-
I have seen some places selling GM 19" fans with 60° pitch.

This is the one I use, it gave me a huge temp drop from the Allstar one.

15-80752 is the Acdelco part number. Usually can be found cheaper under that number.
-
Here is the GM fan for a little under $70 using the number stockcar5 provided. Pretty good deal here.

I see what you are getting at, I just don't need to argue with someone who is ALWAYS right because of course I will lose, but you are really reaching in your argument that I take as you seeing me promoting snake oil. Maybe it isn't 60° pitch, maybe it really is 36° which would make you correct, but all I am saying is it worked for me and what the website had it listed as.
I own some of the 36 pitch fans, and the one from CTS seems to have a little more pitch, it may not be 60 but it's something.

Kind of wondering where the horsepower thing came from myself
-
Wow those gm fans are pricey and at over 19'' they are hard to build a shroud for.I'm giving around $35 dollars from a local guy (gets them from Day motorsports) for a 17 '' .Then I build a tight shroud for it.

You are very correct about the fans being expensive and the shrouds being hard to fit the 19", but the efficiency they cool at, it is worth it IMO.
Dominator sells a really nice shroud that easily fits the 19", and if your fan does not reach the cutout for the fan, it is easily extended with plastic or aluminum (whatever your flavor is). We have the Dominator shrouds in our SS and modified and love them, they seem to be bulletproof with the things we have put them through.

Steve Hendren says a stock gm fan causes a 10-20 hp loss on his chassis dyno when dynoing a 604 crate motor. He now advocates a 2 blade version with the same pitch.

I stand corrected. After re-reading the article on Crate Insider it is a 15hp loss at the rear wheels vs no fan. I know that wont win you a race but every little bit helps, esp. when racing crates.
