I think Rusty likes to just go to tracks he's not been to just for the change. But then again sometimes I think he might be trying to slip in and cabbage some easy UMP points.

    1. He is racing on a tight budget (one car, one motor) 2. He will travel for UMP points, if you are racing for ump points and are the points leader. Why would you race someplace thats not a UMP track. He also dosen't really run his own equipment at Eldora very often. He has but he has blown motors and had bad luck. 3. People boo him at Oakshade because he has won to much. 5 or 6 track titles and before his run in late models he won a lot of sportsman races. Oakshade fans also used to boo Kris Patterson and Shane Yoder for the same reasons. Sick of the same guy winning over and over. 4. I can't think of anyone that helps drivers and especially young drivers as he does. At least not in my area. 5. Their are very few owner/drivers that run as well and accomplish as much he does with the equipment he has. 6. I think anyone that competes has thrown a fit, and that goes for racers also. 7. He races clean every week, and he can wheel the hell out of a car. Two weeks ago he had to borrow a car because his motor was sent out, he won at Attica and ran second at Oakshade. The car he borrowed was no masterpiece. I have talked to him several times at several tracks and on Facebook. You couldn't ask for a better guy, never acts busy or to good to talk.

I remember a story about him where at Fairbury he pulled a knife on someone and was escorted off the premise by the Livingston County's Finest....

I have been Rusty's "pr people" for many years with the exception of the 1 year I stepped away as someone else did it and about ruined his credibility in the process. Not one time have I ever said anything about a "shoestring budget" (most drivers operate on one of those). What his fans and other bench racers say is up to them. When you pay his bills you can dictate where and when he races. Until then, sit back and enjoy the show.

It was a box cutter that he already had in his pocket from earlier in the evening and don't forget to mention the 4 guys that were trying to jump him in the pits at that exact moment.

it's sorta refreshing that a so called "shoe string" guy can race and be competitive.. there are way to many guys that have more money than they know what to do with and can't make it out of the B-main...

    keep it going Rusty

Really? One year when you stepped away? Your memory is just as bad as your interpretation of the facts here!

Check your PM's Mr. Super PR man.

I'll be down to talk with you Saturday night!

Tell em how it is Links. This man is very smart with DLM racing and he is not one to lie or make sh!t up. I am personally not a Rusty fan or hater, he is one of our "local" racers and always puts on a good show. That's my 2 cents

Earlier posts stated how I feel. Drive by UMP regional shows to run at a weekly track miles and miles away. Bobby won his title by racing at the best talented UMP races... and I'm not a Bobby fan. Ducking competition is probably why he gets boos?

Bobby has all the backing in the world and the best equipment money can buy compared to rusty

Bust out a map I'm not a Bobby fan. Rusty lives on the Ohio/Michigan border, Bobby lives in the heart of UMP country. Part of the UMP scoring is the amount of cars in a race. So it benefits you to tow to BFE if there will be more cars, which is more points. I don't see Rusty ducking competition, just trying to get the most points even if it doesn't make financial sense.
