Mike Marlar ??
I know he was running a Longhorn to start the year but in photos I have seen the last few months it looks like he went back to running Rocket, I was wondering if anyone knows why and if so what happened to the Longhorn car ?? Thanks in advance.

Randy Weaver bought it from them for a backup it's the car Randy won the Lucas Oil race at Smokey Mtn in. I have no idea why they sold it .

I overheard Mike chatting with Ben Shelton at the WoO race at Ponderosa (the first race he was back in a Rocket) and Mike said they decided to go back to the Rocket chassis they had success with last year and that his car owner, Ronnie Delk, found a buyer (Weaver, as CarolinaDirt said) for the Longhorn pretty quick. Ben can verify that here if he recalls more of it, but I think that's the gist of the story.

Why would you bump this thread, Mike himself has said he prefers the Rocket, what else is there really to discuss?

I believe he was supposed to be headed to Cedar Lake this weekend so I'm guessing that's what he's saying about giving it a few hours. Hope he is as he was impressive finishing 3rd behind Lanigan and Owens his only time there.

He usually runs good in whatever he is in and wherever he goes.

Heard he is debuting a new Capital car tonight...

Marlar in a capital could be very interesting. Surprising that more guys haven't jumped ship to capital as good as Clanton has been running.
-
He mentioned sort of in passing in one his recent interviews that they were getting a new car put together, and I just figured it'd be a new Rocket. Interesting indeed.

He was parked with Clanton, Junghans & Doar, so that pretty much confirms it.

Kinda cool that he's in a Capital. I'm surprised more dudes that switch chassis aren't getting into Capital cars.
