Ice Bowl 2016
just checked future cast for weather update, temps not bad , highs in mid 50s , of course warm temps means chance of rain , but only giving a 25% chance of rain or drizzle ,
-
weather looking better, rain chances are 40% late Thursday night till Saturday morning , then maybe again sat night , highs low 60s till Sunday 50s sun. you cant have warm here this time of year and no chance of rain but at least there decreasing the chances.
-
Anyone near there? Cars lined up to get in tomorrow? I hate rain on race days! Curious to see how it all plays out.
-
-
just watched the latest forecast , chance of rain tonight , then again sat night , looks pretty good for day time , but I have my hay bail and rain gear ready ,
-
I cancelled, cost me $50, try again next year. It would be nice if they would have it the weekend of the king holiday that Monday, schools out and some people have a holiday, may get more folks to come.
-
The Super Late Models are the NeSmith 525 series that are running in the Ice Bowl, and no big open motor supers, is that correct? thanks
-
Incorrect, several motor options, it's just by feature time on Sunday, it's so slick the 525's are on a equal playing field.
-
I heard, reliably, that there are a lot of cars there already. At least the pa system is working too. We're still planning on heading over, weather dependent.
-
130+ cars today. I'm preparing for Saturday to be a rain out. I think it will turn into a Sunday and Monday event... The Weather Channel has been adamant that it will rain Saturday since last weekend, with 80-90% chance. I just recently checked, and it will be from 7am-8pm Saturday for my area (30 miles west from the track). Who knows, it could change by then. Just be weather aware and prepared!!!
-
We certainly don't want to see a Monday race! Did that not that long ago in front of very few! Who were the best supers there already?
-
Yeah, luckily they gave me the day off just in case they had to run Monday. I saw the track's FB page post they had 247 cars today. 40 Supers, 61 Crates, 31 Limited Late Models and 52 Street Stocks plus the other 2 divisions. Jason Hiett was quickest in Supers. We will see how many more racers show tomorrow...
-
60 crates there already? Wow! There wasn't that many supers at the National for $25k! The forecast isn't good either. Some of us are going to watch the weather before heading over tomorrow. We believe 3 or 4 years ago, they ran almost everything in 1 day. Could just be a long, cold Sunday.
-
49 supers. 1H Hiett fastest at 14.15.
-
60 something crates. Believe 39 Elliott fastest at 14.14. Rain in the area.
-
40+ limiteds. Lower divisions heats & consi s now. More later.

Hiett & Cook get together into1on the start. Looked like Hiett pushed up.
-
Sorry, it rained earlier. Super heat 1 to 33 Brannon over Hiett. Hiett & Cook pitted & went to the tail. 12 cars I think. Hiett charged to the front, with the aid of cautions. Cook finished towards the back.
