    Default Imca crates

Can a certified imca engine builder when installing cable locks touch the internals of the crate engine? Example- advance or retard the camshaft.

They are not supposed too. If you were to take your 602/604 to an approved builder to be tagged, they would need to disassemble it to verify everything is correct. Then it can be sealed. If the motor goes straight from GM to the builder, they should be able to seal it without opening it up.

What type of gains would be made by advancing the cam or retarding in a crate? Would it be noticeable difference on track?

It moves the power band up or down.
