metric set up question
Running a 3000 lbs metric gm on a 1/4 mile typically dry slick track. Does anyone have a good starting point for left side, cross and rear percentages? If give out a set up is a problem, you can text me at 3042906329

how are guys getting 52-54% rear yet stay at 3000 lbs on a metric.I saw a car that had 5 valvecover weights on both left and right cage and 2 valve cover weights at fuel cell cross brace .how can he add 600 lbs to rear and not be 3600 lbs? not trying to be a wise guy just interested in dirt cars.

cut weight any where you can. Strip the body panels, cut unneeded metal. Our car weighs 3400, rules say 3200. If you can't drive it, it doesn't matter how light it is

My metric car is right at 3,00lb. I have been down to 2700 and up 3100 and 3,000 is where it works the best.
My magic number is 52.5.....cross, left and rear.
52% rear is not hard to get on a metric car that weighs 3,000 lbs. Light weight aluminum front bumper 5-8lbs, take a look in your local junk yard and look at the newer cars with plastic bumper covers, they have nice aluminum bumpers behind them and some are PERFECT! Aluminum hoods are great too if rules allow, my car has a steel gutted hood with those numbers. aluminum water pump and light weight P/S pump with plastic res.
Lots of extra metal in the firewall, kick panels and rocker panels, get all of that heavy stuff out of there. Eric
