DOT Pure Stock Tires
Our local dirt track changed the rules this year. Previously, we were allowed to run racing tires and we ran American Racers. This year, the rules changed and we have to run a street tire. Maximum size of 235/74-15 and an 8" wheel. I barely have a set of tires and they are in rough shape.
This past friday was my first night out this season. I managed to finish third. After the race, the top 5 is inspected and we are allowed to look at the competitors cars. I noticed some had newer, soft compound tires. Where can I find me some of these bad boys?

Try to find a snow tire. They usually have a fairly soft compound for a DOT. Last ones I checked durometered around a 45.

mickey thompson makes some soft dot tires if wanting softer.

I too am stuck on DOT tires, look in the boneyards for cheap tires, sometimes you can find ones that are like new. Lots of small SUVs like blazers or older explorers had the tall 15" tires. Seen guys spray the tread with simple green and wrap them in cellophane for a few days to help soften them.

Cooper cobras are a good choice.

cooper cobra is the same as Avenger GT

Thanks guys. We are buying new tires a couple at a time. Nothing special, just new. They have helped quite a bit with traction.

the Avengers used to be good price

I have 1 brand new sigma supreme TR in a 235/70/15 and it has plenty of grip, to my knowledge these are ONLY sold at NTB, about $76 ea.

Hoosier has a DOT tire often called the Dirt Bozz
they call it the Oval Track DOT Dirt, but it's only available in 60 series I believe
P245, 255, 265, 275, 285, and 305 60's
some in soft medium and hard compound...... good dirt tires
