Default Modern day track lighting and dust

Some of the old time tracks that we have been going to in our area for decades have recently upgraded to the most modern high tech lighting systems. With that the dust seems like it is worse and more of it. I maintain that it is the same as it had always been because the tracks are still prepped as they always were and the cars are still running the same basic lap times as before. We can just see it so much better than we ever did. With the old lights we could only see the dust swirling around towards the front of the old type of outdated lights but the new style of lights are so bright that you almost feel light you are in complete daylight. I also notice now that we can see the dents and scrapes on the cars that we never though were there unless we went into the pits and seen them up close and personal. The programs pages really seem to stand out more as well.

It would be shocking if the track is prepared the same as it used to be. Venture to guess 75% of the tracks are not.

Coming from a person that shoots flash photography, it's more the track prep than it is the lighting. Some if it also has to do with trackside billboards. Those things will bounce the dust back over the track surface.

Track prep is really bad this year. It's a shame how Eldora can be used as an example and excuse to defend not prepping a race track. This stuff snow balls, because most promoters would love to get away with not cutting up the racing surface. And as long as the fans keep coming the dust will keep flying.
