By the way, we're getting a little off topic talking about the bailout money, but all three took money from the government. The only difference is that Ford's several billion dollar loan came from a different fund than the other two.
"Ford requested a $9 billion line-of-credit from the government, and a $5 billion loan from the Energy Department. It pledged to accelerate development of both hybrid and battery-powered vehicles, retool plants to increase production of smaller cars, close dealerships, and sell Volvo."
They called it bankruptcy bailout for GM and Chrysler, and both paid it back and the government sold its shares of stock. They called it a loan for Ford--supposedly to develop electric cars (how many electric cars does Ford have in production since then, by the way?), but unlike the other two companies, Ford still hasn't paid their money back yet.
Whatever word you want to use to describe it, bailout or "loan", the result is the same--they still took our money. At least GM and Chrysler paid us back.
