Ray Guss Jr will be in the house too, Might be the last time you get to see him drive! I thought I heard this is his last race!! I remember his rookie year in the 12 car at Peoria in 1978

Hurst is gonna be racing the #58 at Tipton on Thursday for the $1000 to win Fall Bash. There is something in the works for Gus to run someone else's car at Peoria on the 8th. It's not a for sure deal, won't know till mid week.

Is this race the same one that has been known as the Illinois State Championship over the years?
-

thanks 4 posting past winners
-
I'll second the thanks for the past winners!!
I was there to watch Bohlander win a couple of those Illinois State Championship races. Also watched Tommy Rients win it in '85.
The Illinois State Championship used to be a BIG race along with The Midwest Invitational at Sterling Speedbowl Park in Sterling, Illinois. I'm glad and honored I got to attend several of both.
