Street conversion
I've been out of racing for a long time, installed my race motor (2.5 ford) in my street mustang. the solid lift cam i have makes it difficult at best to leave any intersection with out spinning the tires to keep it going. cam in the engine makes power from 3500 -4000 to 8000 rpms..
Can someone recommend a cam (number and maker) that i could install that would move my rpm power range closer to the low end.. say 1500 to 1800 at the bottom end to 5000 or 6000 range?
maybe i'm not explaining my self well, but bottom line is i'm looking for a street cam.
Any help would be appreciated

have you considered going with a heavier clutch/flywheel combo?
No matter how hard you try...you cant fix stupid!!!
If you build it right...it will turn left!!!

Racer Walsh has several. The rollers are the way to go on the street.

I'm running a stock fly wheel and clutch..(balanced) always have, it's really an rmp thing, never ran well at low speed with low rpm... I will try Racer Walsh.
Thanks

Racer Walsh is no longer open. Try speed way motors. What are the specs of your cam.? That is the rpm range that I race in.

Racer Walsh certainly is open

13 to 1 give or take. 5.7 rods, 2.5 crank (small), pistons to match, angle cut head with some special work by the engine builder, motor has never let me down,,, have owned it for 12 years now with ring and bearing work every couple years.
