I run a Toyota race truck with an 84 22r engine. .455 cam, matched valve springs, brand new build. I'm using a GM coil and ignition module, both are brand new. It has a brand new distributor with the counter weights welded.
Now my problem. This thing breaks up bad in the corners. First thought was carb. Had it adjusted and adjusted some more, and finally rebuilt. No better.
Checked the timing, grounds, all connections on ignition. Nothing solves it. It only happens bad under a load. If I rev it up in the shop, it has a little miss at around 5500 and then at 7,000. I am running an alternator. It's been tested and it's good.
Has a Holley 4412. We've jetted from 66 to 73 and nothing solves it. Has a 3.5 power valve. I'm stumped. The builder is 170 miles from me so he hasn't been able to get here yet and I've tried the usual stuff he has suggested as noted above. I'm stumped. Any ideas?
