What is the purpose of "Black out cars" ??

Seen a lot of this and it seems it would be a little unsafe...

Never cared much for them. Not just LM either. I've had quite a few drivers in other classes also say it's hard to see them on certain tracks at times.

I think it is a trend, Bloomer dose this, now a lot of people are doing it to. I know it works blacking out the underneath of the car is to make it harder to get a good look at stuff underneath the car. And MI Dirt Fan it sure dose make the car harder to see, I got rear ended in the pits while lining up for the feature, the guy hit me so hard it wrapped my rear bumper down and around my fuel cell, and he said sorry I didn't see you sitting there. LOL
